Another season is just around the corner and it will certainly prove to be a tough one. Last year’s performance truly exceeded our expectations in reaching the Bafa Division two final. Despite our loss in that game we now earn the right to play in this very tough division one conference.
During the off season we have had a high number of players retiring or leaving the local area which hasn’t helped. However, we have managed to recruit a high level of new players, both rookies and experienced players from other clubs, which is always welcomed.
Also, we have managed to recruit a high level of University players from both the Portsmouth Destroyers and the Chichester Spitfires. I cannot emphasise more how important these players are to us, their experience is a great asset to our club and they are very much appreciated.
The opening game against the Solent Thrashers will be a tough one however I know the players are looking forward to the challenge. Let’s hope we come a way with a good result and no injuries.
