Breaking the club record for points in a single game lends itself to some strong performances, which have been noted with the MVP awards for our penultimate regular season game.
Team MVP was Quarterback Stu Rees. A perfect day through the air for Rees with a 100% completion record and 3 passing touchdowns. For good measure, Rees also added a rushing touchdown to his tally as well.
Offensive MVP was chosen as Receiver John Cowen. A consistent threat in the passing game all season, Cowen caught everything thrown his way, finishing with two touchdown receptions.
Defensive MVP was awarded to Defensive Back Joe Clulow. After some quieter performances, Clulow stepped up in a huge way, with three interceptions, a pick six and a punt block. A great all around game for the Dreadnoughts defensive captain.
Returner Zak Edwards was chosen as the Special Teams MVP. Edwards was a constant threat to the opposition with the ball in his hand, repeatedly setting up the offense in great field position.
The Play of the Game was chosen as Linebacker Scott Quade’s punt return. A high kick was fielded by Quade, who managed to pick up a solid return. Any time a “Big Man with Football” moment occurs, it has a good chance of being our Play of the Game!
