Following the Portsmouth Dreadnoughts Senior Teams first win of the season on Sunday against the Bournemouth Bobcats, a number of players were awarded MVP for their performance.
Team MVP was awarded to QB Stu Rees. Stu kept the team in the game with his scrambling ability and accurate passing downfield, finishing with a Touchdown pass and a 2 point conversion, as well as nearly adding a second touchdown which was called back for a penalty.
Offensive MVP went to RB Tom Davies. Tom”s strong running and refusal to go down helped extend drives time and time again, with his run near the end of the game sealing with win by getting a crucial first down.
Defensive MVP was given to DL Jake Hancock. A regular fixture in the Bournemouth backfield, the Team MVP of the 2016 season kicked off the new campaign with another strong performance.
Special Teams MVP was awarded to P Will Purkiss, who gave the team great field position time and time again with his booming right boot,
A new award for 2017, the Play of the Game was decided to be the interception made by DB Zak Edwards, who rose high to snatch the ball out of the air and change the momentum of the game near its conclusion.
