Another win for the Portsmouth Dreadnoughts Senior Team brings the team to a 5-2 record. Several outstanding performances were recognised with an MVP award.
Team MVP was awarded to Running Back Patrick Kanyinda. With over 100 all purpose yards and a rushing touchdown, Kanyinda was one of our most consistent performers both through the air and on the ground.
The Offensive MVP was Offensive Lineman Neil Upton. Consistently winning at the point of attack, Upton stepped his game up to be a player the offense could really run behind.
Sunday’s Defensive MVP was Defensive Lineman Aldo Navarro. Creating havoc in the offensive backfield is nothing new for Navarro, but his performance against Bournemouth was a new high point, highlighted by a strip-sack of Bournemouth’s QB.
Special Teams MVP was Defensive Back Dale Anchor. With plenty of kickoffs on a high scoring day for the Dreadnoughts, Anchor constantly harassed the opposition returners, making crucial tackles to bring returns to an early conclusion.
The Play of the Game came in the second quarter, when Wide Receiver Dan Thomas took the handoff for 68 yards and scampered all the way to the end zone. A new addition to the team, we look forward to seeing more big plays in future from the young Chichester Spitfires player.
